What better way to look back on Aang’s successor than to rank every single episode again with his reincarnation. + Korra can bend metal and Aang couldn't. Korra doesn't seem as dependent upon her team as Aang is; part of the reason is due to her tutelage and guidance from Tenzin, who I counted amongst the side characters. Avatar set the bar very high. While Korra does have its fair share of laughs, the series has a slightly more serious tone than The Last Airbender and so some of its humor doesn't land as well as the comedy in Avatar: The Last Airbender does.. Mako has the lean and muscular frame. Korra is better avatar than Aang, she is more powerful and she is fighting with strongest enemies in every season when Aang had to fight only one main enemy, who hadn't reason to become such a bad*ss, when Korra's every enemy have so much reasons and are stronger than Ozai was. My own personal belief is that Korra had the better series, but after this review, I can’t make up my mind anymore. I hadn't watched either until this pandemic, but ended up binging all of it while I was off work. I've long maintained that as a series, ATLA is better than Korra, but the last two books of Korra are better than the entirety of ATLA. Who doesn't wanna see more of Vacation Tenzin! Unfortunately, LoK had the episodes 10 to 14 of Spirits. In the hierarchy of the Avatar: The Last Airbender franchise, The Legend of Korra often gets slighted. I think the writers left that story to the ATLA comics and they just lightly touched on the effects of the 100-year war by saying everyone's parents got harmed by a firebender (Mako, Kai then Amon and his face) lol. kyoshi 2nd best avatar korra better than aang 100% watch legend of korra if u know whats good for you Korra's world was far too '1920s USA' for me. If he succeeded the world would end. In terms of pros & cons it's honestly a Yin/Yang thing where they make up for what the other lacks as well as having problems unique to their own respective work: TLOK has the best main character vs ATLA having a lackluster one, ATLA has a way better supporting cast vs TLOK has only a few that are as good. I say as some one who loves last air bender, Never ever talk to me or my son or my grandson or my great grand son or my...............son ever again, Korra has better world building, but TLAB has better characters, i think korra had a decent start but as the show went on i had trouble justifying its plot points I think this youtube series sums it up well, Avatar TLA is more like one story, that is splitted into 4 "books" which have to do with 1 of each element one at a time (water, ground, air, fire), whereas in Korra it's like different stories (blood-benders, spirits, that 4-element team, ground kingdom). Ajna sucks tremendously Despite what some people like to claim, the lore & plot writing is about the same in both series with ONE major exception: Book 2, especially the last few episodes, REALLY drags the series down. Share 1 Comments. I still find myself going back to rewatch episodes of Korra's story, but not any of Aang's. None of the characters have better then mediocre vocal performances. If you really want to see a character embody all of Korra's negative traits and crank them up to 11, play Indivisible. I think if Korea wasn’t skewed over by Nickelodeon it could have been significantly better than last air bender. Zuko has the best redemption arc I have ever seen in a tv series, and no not just for a kids show. Korra unfortunately trapped everything into a box of knowing, ATLA was a full world with mystery. I really love The Legend of Korra story better. Here's how I like to described the transition from Aang to Korra... Aang lived in a broken world that needed it's spirit and hope uplifted. However I agree with your point on Zuko, a lot! Aang’s struggle to becoming the Avatar was good don’t get me wrong but I like Korra’s development more. Without further ado, it’s time to restart the cycle of the Avatar as we look back on the first entry of Korra’s journey in Book 1: Air… 12. Unalaq, although a fairly uninteresting character, was arguably the biggest threat to the world. Personally I don't find one better than the other, but I definitely do enjoy TLOK more than ATLA, partly after discovering things to truly appreciate and partly because the fandom soured my overall opinion of the latter when I never really had one to begin with lol, like 4 years ago I watched Korra vs Kuvira on YouTube and decided to look at the comment section and holy fuck was that an amazing mistake! From what I gather last Airbender has better characters korra has better world building. I Think the Legend of korra is such an amazing show to me. But with character development like Iroh, Zuko it's not better in quality imo. The show aired in 2012. Last Airbender has more space for character development BUT Legend of Korra has tighter, more complex plots. I have jumped up and down everytime I see the Legend of Korra. I like how it has a much bigger scale and how it feels more huge and immersive then Avatar and the little touches that aren't acknowleged by the script like Korra listening to jazz while she trains and Tenzin pulling down the sleeve of Korras airbender outfit are actually really unique and add to the feeling of immersion. Gis unflinching commitment to his spirit helped him heal a society that lost faith in his existence. Related: Avatar: Why Korra Was A Better BENDER Than Aang. AtLA, personally, had the best villain in both shows in Azula. But in that same regard we get to see a lot of Tenzin development because of this. The best part of ATLA was the redemption arc for Zuko and honestly I think Korra's character arc is almost as good. Someone else said it perfectly that you could cut full episodes from ATLA and it wouldn't change much (hell I'll skip some episodes during a rewatch) but in LOK about 98% of the episodes further the plot and have something to offer. After rewatching both series again recently I honestly had a hard time getting through some episodes of ATLA. I could agree with you if what you meant was "TLOK had a bigger variety of Character Development".
